On writing about war in his poetry. It feels quintessentially very American to me to be an inheritor of war. My life and my poems try to investigate that intersection of what it means to be an American body born out of violence, making sense out of violence.

April is National Poetry Month and in commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of the Vietnam War, Bruce Colbert and Graham Timbes, 2 talented poets and veterans of that horrendous war in which over 50,000 American men and women lost their lives, will read their poetry on Sunday, April 17 at 3 PM in the Book Cellar at Page & Palette.
